I realised I loved you
When I saw you turn away,
Catching a glimpse of your auburn hair
As you disappeared into the dark.
My heart bled for many days
Following the footprints of your mind
Wondering why I had not the wherewithal
To tell you just how I felt.
But moments come and go,
And you are gone forever,
Leaving me to walk the hills
In silence and in sorrow.
How is it
That you cannot see
What is before you
Until it is gone
And then you see only the space
That was once full of her beauty.
