It started with a simple glance.
and then he said, "Come on let's dance."
I said, "What the Hell," and took a chance.
Perhaps we'll find that sweet romance.
He pressed against my body hard
it caught me so totally off guard.
All fear of falling I did discard.
A dance of love with no holes barred.
Such sadness in that melody
seems it was playing for him and me.
I thought this is what love should be
two people joined in perfect harmony.
He sees that smile form in my eyes
and hears my heartbeat as it sighs.
I drop my mask and the disguise
forget the who, the how, and whys.
A touch a kiss there on the dance floor
that growing hunger and wanting more.
Finding what I had been looking for.
Stirrings of desire that are hard to ignore.
Yet still when that dance was through
our special moment in time was, too.
Who would have thought or even knew
he'd say, "I enjoyed the dance with you."
Then he turned just as quick to go.
I didn't understand nor did I know.
Surely my feelings had to show.
How much I came to love him so.
It was that night that perfect time.
A love so sweet the tempo and rhyme.
Two hearts that shared that love sublime
than they turned it into another crime.
