A Prayer to be Grateful
My Father
I thank You that I can come to YOU
that You made me Your child through Christ
Thank You for Your unending Love and Grace
forgive me for all that I take for granted each day.....
If I lost my eyesight, I know I would be devastated
yet never have I thanked YOU for it!
When I lost my job years ago
I was worried, but again I never thanked YOU for it
when I had it...
Lord the list is endless of my ingratitude
I want to change my God
I want to be a grateful child
grateful for the simple things and the big things
to see that the days of peace
come from YOUR command
and to praise YOU for them....
To return to say thank YOU
for all that I cried to YOU while in bitter sorrow
that I received....
I want to be aware of YOUR
working out every detail of my life
from the air I breathe
to the food that nourishes
to know the rest that replenishes
YOU gave me
and even in sickness
it is THY HAND that sustains
MY GOD
help me to ponder these things often!
In Jesus name I pray Amen!
