HISTORY'S LOOP

HISTORY'S LOOP

A house with character shows many replays
With longing I embrace those bygone days
Placed in the memoir of gentle backgrounds
Let my roots find solace from yesterday's sounds

~~~ ********** ~~~
Gold limned clouds once covered my sky
Lightning bug lanterns sparkled nearby
Gentleness of rain in the midnight hour
The tinkle down dawn in a thunder shower
~~~ ********** ~~~

Running through the clover, with eagle's wings
Between frames of childhood's innocent things
In a flurry of fireflies 'neath a sable sky
I felt the lush grass; warm nights in July

~~~ ********** ~~~
Patterns of things have started to flee
History's loops now play games with me
Yesteryear covers all, in blankets of sand
While I draw images with my yesterday's hand
