Poetry For Everyday People
They Will Never Know
It's never close,
the way they describe us,
when was the last time
they walked in our shoes,
or felt our heart beating
at 3 am,
they stick their finger
out the car window, point
a gun, yeah, everyone's
got one now,
and you drive away, look away,
thinking I could eat this mother
f peace of wasted space,
but the leaves are falling,
we're alive,
peace leans on a friend,
I just wanna get home
to my girl.
the way they describe us,
when was the last time
they walked in our shoes,
or felt our heart beating
at 3 am,
they stick their finger
out the car window, point
a gun, yeah, everyone's
got one now,
and you drive away, look away,
thinking I could eat this mother
f peace of wasted space,
but the leaves are falling,
we're alive,
peace leans on a friend,
I just wanna get home
to my girl.
