Who is the goddess who hath come to brighten the heavens?
Who is the goddess who hath come to wake up the beings?
Who hath chased the darkness away and lighted up the paths?
Ushas, the most beautiful daughter of heavens, the queen of Sun
She visits the earth giving her message of love and truth to men
She is the goddess of truth to wake up the spirit of life on earth!

Behold Ushas, the goddess ever youthful and most beautiful
Arriving on her golden chariot from the eastern horizon and
Always shining in her splendorous robes with wondrous hues
As she is singing melodious songs ever new, every morning
Her maids in glowing red robes follow her dancing in a retinue
Behold the bounteous goddess, opulent with riches of heavens!

She holds a golden pitcher full of nectar and a basket full of fruit
She brings divine treasures full of jewels and a basket full of joys
As the beloved queen of sun she listens to the prayers of beings
As a virtuous lady she considers the truth and purity of our hearts
And distributes her jewels, foods and joys among men as a queen
If we meditate on her heavenly glory she bestows love and nectar!

Goddess Savitri, the beloved Queen of Sun! Mother of earthlings
We yearn to be thy own! We love to live as thy children of truth!
We contemplate thy adorable glory in the earth, sky, and heaven,
And we worship thy lotus feet in our hearts even before Sun rise
May we listen to thy melodies and know the secrets of universe
May we drink thy nectar and always shine as immortals on earth!
