Hells Fire
Slumber slivers upon my bed
As fires rage inside our head
We seek shelter with no relief
From heat extreme below our feet
Cries we hear unheard before
Cries for help we can't ignore
Held by chains glowing by blaze
Are souls on fire shrieking and crazed
They fill landscape of ash and scorn
All wishing they were not born
To die yet live ablaze each day
Chosen their paths, suffering this way
Tossing we turn away from this
But to dismay now hear the hiss
Of serpent tongue, King of this realm
Who purchased souls that here now dwell
We drop and roll praying we can
Escape this Hell, this frying pan
Breathing rapid, broken with sweat
Feeling the heat and too inept
Gasping for air seems hope is gone
Too late for one to be reborn
Yet distant is the voice of one
Who calls to me and soul He's won
Desperate we search to grab now hold
Unto pillow one less Hell holds
As wake we do, relieved, reprieved
From this nightmare and life deceived
