A dedication for my daughter Angela. Love you honey!
Pink polka dot curtains on the window
and her dolls piled on the bed.
A tiny white dresser with a heart shaped mirror
and pink carpet where she once did tread.
Pictures of her idols hanging on pink walls.
Sometimes I wonder where time went.
A pink princess telephone beside the day bed.
Her giggle still echoes from hours she spent.
A bookshelf where yearbooks are waiting
her hairpins scattered and a closet bare.
One moment I was changing her diapers.
Now, when I call her, sometimes she's there.
Her graduation cap and gown she left
when she found a place to stay.
All her artwork scattered on her desk
along with games she used to play.
I will sit here for just this special moment
on this pink polka dot comforter.
Remembering days when I was everything
when I was the world for her.
