Written In Haste
Passion pressed this write for you
So far away knowing nothing
Of one wishing would make us two
To live again for something
No pictures of you we find
Seems like a ghost we chase
The plot thickens hard to unwind
With heart losing the race
We catch a glimpse with one last breath
Feeling defeat is near
As cold hands grasp bringing our death
Calling my name we fear
In haste we write this letter now
To bring this pain to end
Begin to question if and how
Where soul of mine will spend
We chased rainbows and wished on stars
That colored sky and night
But unjust fate would make too far
Journey no more my plight
Written in haste seems all I've done
Is lose myself and way
The battle lost for death has won
Today on knees we're slayed
Written in haste to change the way
If one should read this write
Maybe just once someone will say
They gave their all in life
Written in honor of lives cut short
In War and peace, in all sought
