Wise Old Mother Nature And The Old Oak Tree!I never realized something before about me, Until I wrote all about the old oak tree…! For yes I bend and never break, I had to do so, for sanity's sake. And all my life I thought I was so tough, And that's what helped me through the rough! But now I see I am quite wrong… For I did bend in the wind…but yes, I am strong! But because I obviously went with the flow…! That deemed for me down which road I would go! For had I fought against every trial in my life, I definitely would have encountered a lot more strife! All these years through all this pain… I thought I would certainly go insane! But no, I didn't and didn't know why… For sometimes I slip – and sometimes I cry… I thought I was weak at those tears I shed, But no, I wasn't, for I'm alive and not dead! So I did bend, but never did I break, I am the old oak, and sometimes we shake! So now I realize I do go with the flow, And of course, down the right road I did go! That big old oak in that big old wood, For many years it has bent and stood… …Stood proud and high, but did never concede, For the laws of Nature – that oak did heed! She told that oak to bend and not break! And told her that it didn't mean she would break! For that big old oak was a little concerned… That she would be laughed at, but this lesson she learnt! The oak learnt how to be strong, but to also know… That she didn't have to break – for her strength to show! They do say pride goes before a fall… And yes, it is true…and it's not cowardly at all!
