The Tree That Didn't Break!

It grew so tall it almost touched the sky,
The big old oak in the wood!
Though it stood firm, it still moved and swayed,
And did all that it could!

For the tree that firmly stands its ground,
And won't bend or sway in the breeze,
Will come to pass, that it will break…
And snap like an ear of seed!

For as the tree almighty stands,
So it must succumb to the breeze,
Or else it will die, and never know why…
It was finally brought to its knees!

So though I stand both proud and tall…
And stay as strong as I can in the breeze,
I bend with the blowing winds and storms,
And remain strong and true with ease!

For the tree that never bends will break,
No matter how steadfast it stays,
The trick is this we all have to give in…
…To the wind and go with the sways!

Swish, swish, swish goes the wind,
Blowing all around the tree,
So the tree bends and sways in unison,
And that tree will survive, that tree is me!

For all through the trials of my life,
And through every heartache and pain,
I bent and I swayed, but always prevailed…
To stand strong and firm once again!

So to bend and sway isn't giving in,
More it's a test of tolerance and strength,
And to know when we have to stay focused,
And do anything we need to do at length!

Bending in the wind is all about strength,
To know what to do when it's needed,
So to all the oaks in the wood today…
Make sure my words are heeded!

It doesn't mean we are weak!
It doesn't mean we are wrong,
It doesn't make us pathetic,
It doesn't, more, it makes us strong!

Bend with the wind, and go with the sway,
And live to breathe yet another day!
