Email Poem | Today's Poetry

I dint ask for it, I dint search for it, I dint even think of it
But still it was given to me or rather forced into my throat
A greedy cancer that ravishes on the flesh but leaves bone spotless
Devours your mind and leaves you hollow in thoughts and spirit

I can say the world isn't fair but then again................
Who says the world plays mercy, fair or considerate anyway
Justice to the unjust, injustice to the just, penance to the innocent
So shall it be death to the innocent, life to the guilty

The thought of life beyond challenges whats left in me
Each day a part of me fades away drawing me close to HIM
I made my funeral arrangement, guest list even brand new coffin
Seems so crazy but but a privilege I get to plan for the curtain closing

My feelings are quite mixed at the moment if not confused
Should I fear the unknown, repent my sins or enjoy what remains of life??
Four days to church, don't think I'll pay my tithe
Of course I'll make it, not on foot but in a coffin, what a ride!!

On 2nd, 3rd, was it 5th thought I should lie and wait for HIM
Wait while all organs go under lock down mode
I realize its easy to control everything but not your body's' will
No automatic switch, refresh button or restart code

I'll look at the sun and picture its brilliance
Only then will I succumb to darkness, a scary thought
But like a soldier on the front line, I march to meet my doom
Even soldiers do surrender if no otherwise so let it be
