Broken Mirror

The girl behind the broken mirror
She had it all and lost it all
Like a swift eagle in autumn breeze
It swept past her with all she was

Broken, battered and thrashed
Hollow inside she cries tears no one sees
Tears long dried by the passing summer
Lifeless and dry she prays for sweet release

I knew the girl......  she is me
Torn apart by the love of her life
A man whose eyes were cold and blank
Words sweet as you can imagine

He stole everything and left her nothing
Nothing to give to you my dear one
What she saw beautiful he made plain ugly
Where she saw hope, he dragged huge logs

She could have given you her love
She no longer believes in love
She had so much joy and laughter
Now all she can manage is a cracked smile

Maybe you should forget about her
Go to the one who still has it all
She is what she was before everything
I'm just a girl in a broken mirror
