Morning has broken as I sit here at dawn
On my wooden deck overlooking the back lawn
Birds are singing their `Good Morning` song
Recalling memories of happier days long gone
Towering maple trees rest in solitude's glow
Multicolored leaves waiting for a wind flow
A blanket of fallen leaves now covers the ground
After merrily whirling down silently in sound
Floating to the ground as ages of yesteryear
Like lost loved ones for which I shed a tear
As Sunlight begins to peer through trees tall
Golden specks glisten in autumn's waiting fall
Soon to be dancing a recurring ritual of season
Undressing branches with mother nature`s reason
Like souls that eternally return to the father sky
So must they meet as destined with the wind to fly
I look to the sky as I feel a breeze gaining strength
Remembering fairer days of previous seasons spent
Under circling leaves floating lightly in the air
I feel your spirit dancing with the greatest of flair
More leaves will soon follow in destiny's wind flow
As the sun shines upon them a golden mystical glow
Listening to happy birds sing a `Good Morning`song
I am in awe of autumn leaves soon to be long gone
