 Listen to the Wind
How can I understand your love for me?
How can I comprehend how you stand and wait?
You allow me to run across the arid plains free;
Not forcing me to return through your narrow gate.
I refuse to look at the road signs and warnings;
Living with blinders, not wanting to see your face;
Closing my eyes to your glory in the mornings;
Knowing that you will welcome me with your grace.
How can you win this game? My will is too strong.
I want to live my life my way, without your help.
Plugging my ears too the sound of your enticing song;
I close my eyes, stub my big toe, giving out a loud yelp.
I stop, seeing myself before your face on that last day;
Weeping, falling to my knees, wanting another chance.
This vision of my end if I continue to walk in this way;
Your grace comes as I listen to the wind. I stand and dance!
