Jesus is That Empty Room
I, too, have wanted to shine,
to be the best.
We are all seeking that grand prize.
Society loves success.
Can you think of a better item to prize?
Jesus is the answer.
It sounds so pious
because Jesus is that empty room.
Where is Jesus in the gunshot
in the parking lot?
Have you something to go and do?
I am holding gold in that empty room.
I have nowhere to spend it.
We are all holding Jesus in that empty room.
This is the potential I know is there.
Jesus truly is a comforter.
Thinking about our Lord,
I can furnish that room,
and not appear the holy of holies.
But then, the room will not be empty.
Life exists in the room we inhabit.
I envision Jesus as that empty room,
that potential, that place prior to decorating.
to be the best.
