 The Falling Of Leaves



Adrift the leaves from Mother's branch
That holds the heart of what was Spring
In silence held within the cold
Of memories allowed too long to sing

Asleep for now the tearful child
Granted time is such a precious thing
Into the now I rest awhile
Praying for smiles this time will bring

Long has been the road we've walked
To find our way to what is the now
Forgiving ... yes ... Forgetting baulked
Upon my knees I humbly bow

When our time is to be no more
Thinking upon your face within the night
My heart will bleed to to its very core
As you softly vanish from my sight

There is a whisper in the leaves
That haunts the silence as they fall
As Autumn winds blow through the trees
My heart upon yours to receive the call

I love you Mom
