Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

Winter is everywhere

The green leaves of summer are fading
to the red, golden brown leaves of fall
a carpet of gold now covers the ground
while memories of summer still call.
My warm nights then fade into cool breeze
as the summer sun sinks from my view
with cold nights so fast now approaching
my memories are still what I chose.
Soon winter will bring forth the cold nights
the trees in the wood all stripped bare
no more the carpet of golden leaves to please me
winter has covered… everywhere.
