The Mouse Story............
I would like to tell you a story, about a problem that developed in our house;
Well. It was not life threatening, it was just that my son saw a mouse!
He screamed and dropped a plate, and I told him to keep st um!,
"For heavens sake Josh"!, "we cannot tell your mum"!
So off to the shops I went , for poison and some traps!
I swear I had enough, to kill a brigade of rats!
Crawled under the kick boards, set traps with bacon rind,
My conscience was getting pricked, I felt this so unkind.
Sprinkled the blue poison, into a plastic dish,
Slide it under the cooker, and some behind the fridge;
Nothing got said that night ,til the adverts come on,
Then Tina said "do you all want a cup of tea? and josh pipe up "I will make it mum"
She said its o.k. son, I am going to make some toast!
There was an almighty scream from the kitchen,like Tina had saw a ghost!
she was just sitting in the sink!shaking from head to toe,
she gave us an evil look and said "you all know"!
couldn't help but laugh , you would if you did see her,
But she insisted that its not funny when its mice! That you fear,
She said "its only little, it came out of the larder,"
"Oh my God she screamed " ,"it must have a mother and father"?
I am going to my mothers, I am not staying here this night!
While you are all laughing, and staying out of sight.
You all knew we had mice ,I am phoning the environmental health;
Grown up sons and a husband! and I have to do all this myself;
That night I lay alone, while Tina was in her mums, a place for her to hide;
It must have been around three, I had this sickly feeling inside;
A scratching from the ceiling the skirting and the hall,
I concluded that there was some sort of gathering, maybe a party! or a ball!
Over the next few days, I found the mum and the dad,
The only problem it seemed, was how many kids did they have ?
Well it was four, for the record, the peace is now restored.
Tina still will not go in the kitchen ,so now I do all the chores!!!!!!!!!!!
