Walk a mile in my shoes...
Before you comment,
On how I should feel,
When my energies are spent.
Walk a mile in my shoes...
Before you judge me,
On how I may look...
Or on the pain you cant see.
Walk a mile in my shoes...
Don't give your prognosis,
Don't assume my thoughts,
On my osteoporosis...
Walk a mile in my shoes...
If at all you dare,
But don't be condescending,
If at all you care!
Walk a mile in my shoes...
Don't presume to know,
On the way I'm feeling,
Or on what I refuse to show.
Walk a mile in my shoes...
See if you can...
Bear the pain and agony,
Each day as I am.
People who comment...
On what they don't know,
Should always remember,
That this path they could go!
Walk a mile in my shoes...
Before you advise,
Make sure you think,
Don't bring tears to my eyes.
It's not always superficial,
It's not always on show...
Just because you cant see it,
Doesn't mean it's not so!
It's down to the dreaded expression,
Don't judge the cover of a book,
Cos just like me, it can be hidden,
You cant always tell with a look!
Osteoporosis, how painful a word,
What an excruciating complaint to bear,
But bear it I do, and I never complain,
I never moan about how life's unfair!
So, walk a mile in my shoes...
Do you think you would?
Would you even want to?
If at all you could!
I wish I could walk a mile,
But I can't, so don't judge me,
The truth isn't always what you get,
When it's hidden so you can't see!
Osteoporosis, what a complaint,
Ladies, please listen to me,
Please don't end up like this...
Replace your hormones, with H.R.T.
Don't take lightly what I say,
For if I had known my fate...
I would have tried to prevent it...
But for me, thats much too late!
So walk a mile in my shoes,
But if you really do care,
Take stock of me...
As you walk past my chair!
For this is the future...
For those who ignore...
That H.R.T. is important...
Don't ignore it anymore!
