From the Heart Through the Pen

We fight like dogs
And this you love
I tell you I can’t see you
And it’s me you still adore
Tell you to get out my face
And you beg me for more

He stops and opens the door
Ladies first; he's so courteous
Pulls out your chair
Yet you feel as if you’re in despair
He proclaims he loves you
And I say "Yea me too"

He says that you’re his angel
And I tell you to go to hell
He says he’ll love you forever
I say it’ll be forever till I love you
You say "Take your time boo
I understand, you got things you gotta do"

You wait on me hands and feet
Yet you don’t have much to do
Cause I’m constantly in the street
He gives you massages
And a shoulder to cry on
Yet you’re in my bed come dawn

You’re the world to him
To me I don’t give a damn
About you or what you want
To you he’s nothing but sweet
Not a dog but a true man
Still it’s me you seek
