My heart searched for but never found
The chains that weighed and soul mine bound
Like yours unseen but truly there
Stretched far and wide with sin they bare
Before my birth GOD spoke my name
Knowing quite well we'd play the game
That most still do with lost appeal
Once good now bad is what we feel
Sedate ourselves with some new drug
A choice ours made where shoulders shrug
No care to keep Temple His clean
Body and soul now both dope fiends
The streets become our second home
Where breath our last becomes the moan
That Father mine would hear and come
To save whats left of one more son
The tracks across my arms once then
Have dried up now as Father mends
They now are tracks that bring Him glory
That tell of Grace and His life's story
Before my Father, orphan was I
That tried and failed living with lies
But truth would come and save at last
Today the worst now is the past
Before my Father on knees we'll bend
To go where lead where He now sends
To touch someone as He touched me
To save one more that lives blindly
