THE PRINCESS AND HER 'MUSIC'
She played some upbeat chords
Melodic refrain sublime
On a golden baby grand
Elusive hands now stroking time
Presented on a wooden stage
The curtain was half drawn
But the princess kept on playing
Though her song felt half gone
From lowest to highest register
The key of F was her theme
So she played by her memory
From a summer noon-time dream
Suddenly curtain fully raised
Spotlight guitarist playing ‘Fire'
Lightning flashed his true ‘music'
Adorned in trendy Hendrix attire
His fingers strummed his steel
Songs erupted from his heat
So the princess kept on playing
With the building of his beat
His harmony played by his side
Then his solo played real bold
'Cause his screaming strings turned
Her piano to liquid gold
The audience was stunned
A performance they could feel
And all had been convinced
The music they made was real
The Princess and her music
With keys and strings combined
Playing hearts to realize
Their song's a union for all time
