Through the Forestthe day is warm not a cloud in the sky my dog follows me closely we take to the trail to our favorite spot a ledge over looking the valley i had packed a lunch for us water and drink it would only take an hour walking through the forest was a solitude of peace we reached the ledge took a breath of the fresh mountain air and sighed this was Gods country we watched the eagle soar mountain goats climb the river below rushed with rapids and a roar the colors breath taking walking through the forest was a solitude of peace lunch was spent quietly taking in all the sights and sounds the tranquility felt there was no rush here no demands upon my time no deadlines to make we sat in silence watching all the sights tippy was soon asleep as i relaxed walking through the forest was a solitude of peace i could see a bear on the other side of the river looking for a place to fish in the distance crouching low i spied a cougar ready to pounce on a rabbit sitting quietly not making a sound or move i watched the wildlife around walking through the forest was a solitude of peace i had thought of bringing a camera then decided against that would be intrusive there was a sense of one with nature a camera would have defeated that feeling being a part of this beauty was more than a dream it was reality for tippy and me walking through the forest was a solitude of peace Vote for this poem
