The Rocky Path I Stumbled

Breaking through the grey mist
finally being able to see…
the rocky path I stumbled
was for no one else but me.
Through choices made in darkness
the pathway never clear
stumbling to eternity
fighting, pain… and tears.
Now old…
and grey,
but wiser
the gift of life is mine
pathways I now walk down
for me now feel divine.
No more battles need be battled
the light of day will reign
no more pathways where I may stumble
and bring forth so much pain.

With every line I write I try to understand more of myself.
