MATCHBOX PET

I HAD A LITTLE CRICKET AND CRICKET WAS HIS NAME.
I PUT HIM IN A MATCHN BOX AND KEPT HIM  FROM THE RAIN

I TOOK HIM TO THE GARDEN, BESIDE THE GARDEN WALL
AND WHEN I WENT TO GET HIM, HE WASN'T THERE AT ALL.

I LOOKED AROUND THE BUSHES, AND UNDERNEITH A ROCK
AND THEN I FINALLY FOUND HIM, INSIDE A BROKEN CROCK

I FELT HE WANTED HIS FREEDOM AND SO I LET HIM GO
HE WASN'T MEANT TO BE A PET, ALTHOUGH I MISS HIM SO.
