 Jake

This is a simple little verse I'm writing to acknowledge your feat;
Working your tail off in the gym, instead of playing in the street.
Getting quicker, stronger; combining that with sound football skills;
Sweating hard at practice without ever giving up, doing all the drills.

Every rep got you closer to that starting job you deserved for years;
As a starting guard, hearing the sound of all the Mountie fan's cheers.
Five guys anchoring the offense, a line that brought this team many wins;
Seeing your Dad's face when he talks about you, seeing his proud grins.

Honored by being named All Blue Ridge District, your efforts reward;
Your talent, your resolve, your tenacity; each were to much to be ignored.
Wherever your life takes you now after high school, to college and beyond;
Never forget these days on the gridiron; the effort, the glory, and the bond.

Congratulations, Jake
May God's grace be with you
