Poetic-Verses

Yule Tide.................

That time is upon us once again
Sparkling lights in the rain;
The festive season in full swing
 shops blast out  Yule tide hymns;

The city walkways twinkle and glow,
People skipping to and fro,
Late night shopping at “Liverpool one”
The Ferris wheel spins on and on.

Big issue sellers late at night,
Trying to earn themselves a bite,
Salvation army band just play on,
Celebrating.....  God the son;

The bells will ring from each end of hope*,
While some Christians look to there pope;
The neon lights  adorn the streets,
But the best time is Christmas eve;

Readying the children for their bed,
Exciting laughter as they lay their head,
One more sleep, and it will come to pass ,
Father Christmas will be here at last;

The neighbor who goes a "tad" to far,
Climbing roofs to plant a star!
Alas I feel it has become tacky and rude,
Or am I now a later day scrooge?

foot note . in my city we have two cathedrals,one Anglican, one Roman Catholic.
they are at each end of the same street. HOPE STREET.......
JUST THOUGHT I WOULD GET MY XMASS POEM OUT THE WAY.............
