I wear this mask upon my face
And i know that i wear it well
It hides the tears and the sadness
So all the world cant tell
My eyes are hidden by this mask
They cannot see the light
I am in a world of darkness
Without happiness and delight
The wrinkles here upon my face
Is a story in each fine line
A road that i have taken in life
Behind a mask that sure is mine
I wear my mask, i wear it well
Its attached by some old cord
A mask that i was granted in sadness
From my maker, my dearest lord
He gave me life, he shall take it back
He will hide my face in pain
I thank the lord for this old mask
So that i cannot be seen again
