Over the mountain and down in the glen
Waited some prince that folks knew back then
With sword in his hand and shield by his side
Gallant he stood next to the horse he would ride
Almighty was he that had fought all his foe
Stood by the wounded with a sword all a glow
But deep in his heart was a love etched inside
A love for all eternity, a love that never died
In his hand was a key, a key to her heart
And a pledge in his mind that said they would not part
He waited down yonder each day to see her
His princess, his maiden but still she wasn't there
His body was weary from the cold winters snow
But still he waited and pledged not to go
One day she appeared all dressed in white lace
This hero this soldier placed a kiss on her face
He promised to love her and never let her go
To cherish her, and guard her from evil and foe
In a dream they walked slowly over mountains and glens
A prince and his princess into the mist once again
