A Serving of Selfishness
Simple is the road we choose
Comfort zone, no way to lose
Yet in this act all do become
Selfish we are, to all but one
You maybe thinking within
The box today where you stay in
Not outside where you should be
Selfish is what you don't see
Maybe your blind that's understanding
Maybe too deaf, misunderstanding
The call for you to serve someone
Other than you cause it's not fun
Your flight on magic carpet today
Above all else, your mind not pays
The need to serve more than yourself
The cries of many if nothing else
Take heed and know someone takes count
Of all the heads that won't amount
To nothing else but to be scorned
Wishing that day they were not born
It's not of anger but of His love
You may forsake, think nothing of
You build castles upon dry land
Your Kingdom comes but of quicksand
Take heed and note time will soon come
To answer to more than someone
The Prince of Peace who will serve you
Serving of self of this you knew
Maybe today you'll take some time
To show of you who once lived blind
To hear the calls from wilderness
To change your ways, become self less
No judgment here upon this write
It's not of me or is my right
To judge the way some may be living
Before a GOD who so forgiving
CHRISTmas comes maybe this day
You'll ask for help, GOD change my ways
Where choice is made to serve someone
Serving His cause, that's everyone
Serve CHRIST, serve someone other than yourself
Remember it's not about you, but about Him
