Ever driven down a one-way street
And reversed for a quick retreat,
Before anyone sees what you did
Can`t look silly, heaven forbid.
I`ve walked down one having seen the sign
And carried on up the steep incline,
Thinking I would be met half way
No chance of that I have to say.
I wouldn`t like to live in this street
There`s nothing here but defeat,
It`s a constant fight to get fair play
Others just seem to want their own way.
So not being met half way at all
Sets my mind back so I can recall,
At one time this was called `easy street`
With someone there for you to greet.
There needs to be an ebb and a flow
This one-way street will just have to go,
I`ll make sure that I`m just passing thru`
No fond farewells just a quick adieu.
One-way streets should not be allowed
They seem to attract a selfish crowd,
Try to stay on a two-way street
Far nicer people you`re bound to meet.
