CHILDHOOD MEMORIESDon't remember much of my childhood What I do for child really bad Mom often beaten and drunken Dad Us kids we had been out in the barn Mom had said go play keep out of harm Sis had slid from above down the hay When we couldn't find her spoiled our play Inside the adults were all drinking We tried to tell them Sis was lost But they were preparing dinner not thinking Finally we found her buried in hay bottom floor I was so happy I began to sing Things you do when a kid and only four "You are my sunshine--My only sunshine You make me happy--when skies are Grey Please my Lord don't take my sunshine away!" Timmy was five and we were called to dinner Drew the name of us kids he was always the winner Timmy would you do Grace?" He made the cutest face After wards he was singing, "You are my sunshine--!" I don't sing well but tried to join in Now Dandy--you be quiet, that is Timmy's song!" Childhood memories you see this child did not belong Halfway through dinner the table was turned over Dad was a mean man us kids outside with the dog Rover Mom said it was my fault I should have let Tim sing Oh in my childhood days the memories I bring No child of mine would I ever treat better than another Not sister--cousin, niece in respect of my mother In the sixth grade Christmas play I was one of the three Kings My first girlfriend on stage wearing Angels wings I think my singing voice to my detriment brings Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
