 A voice from the wilderness
Alone in the darkness
I heard a voice cry
Through windy willows
An dark cloudy skies

A voice in the wilderness
This great voice from above
Through windy willow trees
Is where i found my love

My poor heart was so heavy
From traveling so long
But a voice from above
Always helped me grow strong

That voice from the wilderness
Brought much comfort to me
And when my life's over
His voice shall set me free.

With my heart full of passion
And my mind full of pain
That voice keeps on calling
Calling for me once again

When that great ship comes sailing
And its time to get on board
That voice from the wilderness
Will be my dear Lord.
