Good Providence of GodTeach me for numbering my days, And to discard my evil ways; So that I may get a new heart, Filled with wisdom to impart. Return O God as I repent, Since I am Thy faithful servant; And cleanse both my heart and my mind, To be closer to Thee to bind. Satisfy me in the morning, Within your presence adorning; In the humbleness of my prayer, In my inner thoughts that I share. And within Thy loving kindness, Shining with all the blessedness; So I may rejoice in Thy ways, And be glad in all of my days. The years where evil I have seen, Stricken from my mind and wiped clean; Wherein Thou hast afflicted me, So I can be closer to thee. And let the favor of the Lord, Make me to be in one accord; For doing the work with my hands, In accordance to His commands. Copyright © 2009 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
