The Night Before Christmas…Tiz Christmas Eve once more, And sadly all's not well, The reindeer are tired and moody, And Santa's very unwell. The helpers are late, wet and cold, And rushing from home to home, Throwing presents under the tree, And feeling so alone! The Christmas spirit eludes them, They're are in such a state, If they don't hurry up…! Then Christmas will be late! 7 hours left, oh dear me, Just what will they do? They'll have to add turbo power, So Rudolph can rush them through! Tiz the night before Christmas… Oh dear me, oh golly, oh wow… Santa's in a cofuffle…! He need's to hurry but doesn't know how? Rudolph felt sorry for Santa, And a brainwave came to his mind, He told Santa not to worry… Cos an idea he did find! He tied the sacks to his antlers, And set off at the speed of light, Determined to make it for Christmas day, So he worked all through the night! Now Rudolph is a loyal reindeer, And will help Santa in any way, Even if it means…! He has no time to sleep the next day… So this Christmas morn please remember, All the hard work and running about, By Santa and all his helpers, Who for hours worked flat out! And when your day is over, The presents are all away, It's off to bed you'll go, Ready for a brand new day…! The at last Santa can rest, And the helpers can rest too, Then start all over again, To make next Christmas good for me and you! 1987 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
