At His TableAt His Table There is on earth no more special place, Remembering here God's mercy and grace, Invited to this most simple of feasts By Heaven's most glorious Prince of Peace. This is not a feast of cuisine extraordinaire, Simply bread to strengthen, wine to cheer, Reminding us of Christ's victory eternal, Freeing us from death's sting oh so dreadful. God's cleansing flood flowed from Calvary's Hill, Washing sin's record away for all who will call, Call for mercy from our Holy God above, Knowing his heart is full of forgiving love. Oh this is truly a wonderful place, We humbly proclaim his forgiving grace. His kindness that continues to amaze, Together we lift our hearts in His praise; Praise to the Father who sent us His Son, Praise to the Saviour for the victory won, Praise for the Spirit who comforts and guides, Praise for God's merciful gift He provides. Oh God, your favour was quite undeserved, Our song glorifies your name most revered, As a child blessed and sitting on your knee, We look into your face and your glory see. Thank you for this feast, Thank you for your love, Thank you for your mercy, Thank you for the cross. Thank you for forgiveness, Thank you for your peace, Thank you for eternal joy, Thank you for this feast. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
