A Glorious PortraitA Glorious Portrait I am glad to suffer for you, With what my poetry can do; The pen mightier than the sword, While I am praising the Lord. I am not one for being grim, But suffer on behalf of Him; Became a servant of the church, In living life I had to search. That is when God gave me the quest, To start writing my very best; Telling the story in the Word, Until everyone has heard. It may seem like old history, That God hid such a mystery; But now has gone and has revealed, All the Scriptures that had been sealed. For God wanted all on the earth, To share the riches through rebirth; And each one have Christ live within, After being cleansed from all sin. So I spread the message of Christ, About all that He sacrificed; For wisdom and insight I see, And how His power works in me. Copyright © 2009 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
