GRANDPA AND SANTA ON THE ROOFLast year Grandma said they would not exchange He found that just a little strange You see Christmas morning all those gifts under the tree You know Grandpa will buy something anyway But he was told most of those gifts Were delivered from Santa's Sleigh He darn near had a heart attack All those bills he had to pay Not to mention the electric bill out of sight All these Christmas lights Are lighting up the night He likes to nap every now and then He was going to have it out last year But he found these cookies and milk under tree He drank the eggnog and passed out you see Now he doesn't mind all these bills Or the draft being open bringing in the chills He just wants to know why he and Grandma are again this year not exchanging When he has to put up with all the commotion Grandma making him put up lights and and his whole life for days she is rearranging He starts to snore and some kids is on his chin Santa is bringing things that shoot The cat screeching and running about to boot Cars that dart here and there on the floor This interruption is getting too much to ignore Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
