Poetic-Verses

"Aunt kate".

                             "Aunt kate".

Skipping along the tenements landing, shaped like a crescent moon.
Tapping on the door of aunt kates for my sixpence,
For the matinee on a Saturday afternoon;

You had to make an appearance, or the sixpence you would not get.

"The Capital" was showing "Batman" and "Hop along Cassidy" from the wild west.
aunt kate was so prim and proper, went to church every day.
had a boyfriend for thirty years , then it all just faded away

Oh my auntie Katie I loved her so very deeply,
The present of her for Christmas was always what you wanted.
On reflection, looking back, I thought it was so very creepy!

We moved several miles from her , those Saturdays just faded in my head.
She would always stay over on bank holidays  in which she got my bed.
I stood at her requiem mass when she got put in the ground,
 And talk about her to the congregation I wish she was still around.
 No children did she bear My dads elder sister the last of his clan
But there was lots of other families who treated her like a Nan.
