 Desperately Seeking
as if her life were to be
so delicately squeezed
she stood dead still
with her eyes glued open
the smell of murder
rich and thick in the air
she feared for her well-being
and prayed for the light to adjust
she imagined her first time
would be different
should be different
the first kiss
the first smell
the first taste
but it's too late now
the deal has been made
signed and sealed
no turning back
and in the still night
her screams were heard
above lungs full of opera
