Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god
I believe him
"They pick me up when I'm feelin' blue,"
He said and shoves
Another five pills in his mouth.
"Now how about you?"
I leave the room,
Brother dazed and flitting in and out.
Hendrix playing and
His eyes find stars.
He says he can fly,
I believe him.
Mountains he's touched;
Skies he's torn apart;
Dimensions he's discovered.
I watched him grow wings,
For four long years.
He stands upon the window ledge,
Surveys the land and makes
A decision, how far the fall?
"I don't know me," he said through tears.
I believe him.
I don't know him either.
