 Looking Inward

Looking inward at the order of my soul;
Finding dust, debris, and trash scattered.
Wondering why all of this garbage is here;
When I know the only thing that mattered.

I get out my broom, and then take a shower;
Cleaning even the hidden corners of heart.
A fresh shave, followed by combing my hair;
I am now ready to begin a fresh new start.

Freshness blows through my soul as I stand;
A smile from deep within my being, coming out.
My eyes sparkle and glisten with anticipation;
What's around the next turn on this route.

Vowing, once again, to never allow myself
To get in this disrepair, I walk free of the chains.
With determination, I stride forward into the light;
Into the wisdom and power of the latter rains.
