 Poems for Lovers and Sinners

I Died Last Night...

I died in my dream last night

  saw loved ones shed tears

of sorrow over my laid out body -

White shroud and curtain around me

I saw myself lying there breathless

three straps held me down - Why?

  Suddenly my eyelids started flickering

my loved one shouted "he's alive, he's alive!

I started a marching motion with my limbs...

I shoved a young boy who shed tears of sorrow

with a shadowed face I realised his sadness

for he morned his dead Father -

who laid next to me dead...

My dearest tried to hold me down

I carried on marching to nowhere -

for I was no more of this world

I stepped back saw my head wound

a hole and realised I was dead

  An hero maybe in battle>>>
