Out with the old in with the new
Once again this year celebrate with you
Remember all the New Years promises last year?
Still overweight in the belly I fear
I am too old to look like the stud on TV
So I suppose another year you put up with me
I sit in my office and its all filled with junk
My promise last year take it to Goodwill in a trunk
Garage sales loaded up things I would sell
Bought from others more than I sold "OH well!"
Today I will just relax watch a few games
I can hear in the background shes calling me names
Out with old get rid of this stuff all tomorrow
But first I will need a ten ton truck to borrow
What do you do with a guy who collects everything?
You can sell the stuff while I hover about on wings
So you say I can watch TV and rest a spell
If I don't get rid of things I'm going straight--I can tell!
OK, Mama TVs off I'll be out in the garage gathering stuff
I don't think it'll work again she's wise to my bluff
Baseball cards from unknown players in 1977.
I'll give them to my nephew little Kevin
Out of ten thousand albums a hundred or so give away
But to choose which one not essential will take all day
"Yeah, Mom, I'm in the garage working hard."
"I better be or me and my stuff will be in the front yard."
I hate this New Years stuff and making the pledges
If it wasn't so cold I'd be out trimming the hedges.
