Winter Wonderland

Photobucket
gazing out the window watching the snow cascade down
road sidewalk even the grass slowly begins to disappear
around me becomes a cover of a pristine blanket of snow
the winters wonderland envelopes my world

i have waited for this day when the magic of winter is born
seeing the purity of snow on the first day of a hard snowfall
fills my mind with wonder and awe for this glorious wonder
the winters wonderland envelopes my world

i watch transfixed as the world becomes a sparking ice palace
trees bend from the weight of the icicles as the snow falls
sighing at the complete silence that allows the mind to wander
the winters wonderland envelopes my world

it is becoming daylight as a cardinal flies to the icy branch
red feathers standing out in the stark whiteness so breathtaking
the sadness returns once more as a car rolls down the street
the winters wonderland envelopes my world
