Life is but an illusion,
a grand and complicated play;
each person an actor
in a starring role
conceived
within his own mind,
reality somewhere
offstage.
Thoughts wander
through the consciousness
changing the scenery, the plot,
the internal soliloquies,
moving the story
ever onward.
With little consideration
given to the present moment,
to this day's Act 1, scene 1,
many play out lives
numbingly blind
to the beauty
and humor
in living
and so
in the final act,
miss the chance
to hear
the Universe's applause.
