Whose the one that has seen you thru thick and thin
Whose the one that was there from the very beginning
Who was it when you were born held you to her breast
Who prayed to God for you all of life's best
Who was it that tried to teach you what's wrong and right
Who cared for you and had many sleepless nights
Who was it that wiped away your tears
Who told you it would be alright and she was there
Who is it that hurts when you hurt too
Who is it that still tries to speak wisdom to you
Who is it that her heart seems to break into
Who keeps the faith that someday it will get through
Who pleads the blood of Jesus over you
Who binds up the devil to flee from you too
Who until her last breath waits for a breakthrough
Who knows with all her heart God's word is true
Hopefully someday my child you'll see
The importance of being in God's will for victory
For in this world He's the one that loves you more than me
Someday my child these words will become reality
Until then I have given you wings to fly
To make mistakes that have caused me to cry
But through it all God will comfort me
This my child has been my own reality
