Writing originates in the author's heart and soul. All
creative writing is beautiful and to destroy that beauty
is sinful.
A long time ago, someone told me that my prose was
better than my poetry -- so I became a successful
journalist, but I stopped writing poetry. When I did
that, I surrendered a part of my self.
Now, when I conduct a writers' workshop, I let my writers
OF BOTH POETRY AND PROSE know how wonderful they are. I
watch their eyes shine, and their love of writing is
their gift to me.
