Subterfuge
Elusive, he escapes my grips
Slides swanlike twixt my fingertips
So catlike, feline in his grace
Yet moves at a destructive pace
With him, you know the sweetest bliss
Without, your life is bland, listless
No color can you see so bold
No warm, no light hath e'er outshone
The glaring beauty that is he
In his malicious treachery
His pain, his joy are unsurpassed
But life is naught lest ye have passed
Through heaven's gate and hell's domain
Clinging to escape his reign
If ye hath known this vicious dove
You see personified here, love
